I did get to be the size of a small house!
Please don't mind my delayed response... We've been a little busy ;) ! But, yes she is here- arriving on her own time- A day and a half later at the hospital and Alexis Renae arrived! In a nutshell, the drugs they "tried" to induce me which basically did not work. So 24 hours after going to the hospital to begin the process, the Doc asked us if we wanted to get the show on the road- by breaking the water back, or hanging out at the hospital for another night and restarting the process in the morning. After freaking out for five seconds, realizing we had a big decision to make quickly- we decided to start it up! Although the hospital was nice (and the nurses were awesome) we really went there to have our baby, not a vacation. So we began!
Within a half an hour the fun really began... and my eyes were already glued to the clock anticipating the pain of the next contraction. Not too fun, but then they gave me this ridiculous drug (that I couldn't have made it without, but they need to develop a better alternative) that made me feel high, very out of it. But it did nothing for the pain, just let you 'relax' in between contractions.
Shortly thereafter, we were in business with the epidural because I was dialating like crazy... and then another because the first didn't totally take. Some more dialating and before you know it, she was coming. To put it briefly...
Then she arrived and it was great! However, I was not feeling good as the medications had been giving me waves of naseau. So needless to say, I was not totally able to enjoy my daughter's first moments in the world, but we'll make up for it. All and all, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... I told Rich we could have more- Alexis didn't have to be the only child!
