Doctor's Visit No. 5

Yesterday morning we went to visit the doctor again. And I just noticed I had the last visit as number two or three and it was really number four...glad to see I can't count. But anyway-

Continued fun- weighing in, especially after the holidays! I didn't do too bad though given the circumstances of holiday treats...and I figured everyone gains an extra pound or two this time of year, right? So a pregnant lady should definitely be entitled ;)

But the doctor checked all the regular things...blood pressure, baby's heart beat (still having a girl cause the heart rate is high), measurements...yeah, this was a good one. So apparently your fundus height in centimeters is comparative/approximate to how many weeks you are- so, I've been pregnant 25 weeks and guess what I measure?!? A little bigger of course... 27! I don't really feel that big though, but I guess I am. Really no continued surprises about the potential size of the baby. The doctor made the point very clear, that just because I'm bigger does not mean the baby will come any sooner. Of course I was a little bummed by this because I know I will be begging for mercy in the near future.

The doctor also reviewed results of the ultrasound and the current condition I have, placenta previa. He said that only 8% carry the condition full term, so the odds are good that it will, or has, cleared up. But we'll see. The doc said at our next appointment, January 26, that we'll schedule the ultrasound to check everything out. That can be good and bad- if it clears up, looks like it will be just me and mother nature to get this one out...Okay, not kidding anyone, and a little cocktail concoction!

But that's about it for the doctor. The baby is moving a lot now and apparently enjoys an aerobic class early in the morning and late in the evening (5 am and 11 pm) and during various times throughout the day. But this is exciting, Rich has finally captured his first feel of the baby moving- he was very excited!
